I cannot imagine a more perfect day to research new software programs for my writing projects. At this time the rain is pelting my rose bushes and the sky is dark and foreboding. A perfect Northwest writing day.
I spent the morning reading blogs by professional writers who had reviewed writing programs. I think most writers spend a lot of time looking for that perfect program to write their books and create the masterpieces of eloquence without having to actually write them.
That would be nice and the closest to that perfection, this writer has hit, is Dragon Speak software. I can speak into the microphone, and the software program types into the word processing program, without me having to do any typing.
There are many things, I do not mind doing, as a writer. One is traveling in pursuit of research queries and adventures which challenge myself and hopefully enrich some of the ideas that fall upon the pages http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/ . Such a joy.
Right now, that is about the only software which does something for me, while writing, which is incredible useful. Other than that, my mind is tested as it goes along bringing in thoughts which come from who knows where.
Being a writer working on non-fiction books, it is hard to find that perfect software program. Maybe I should writer it however then I would have to learn coding and my mind cannot wrap around that knowledge, although I have taken SQL classes. No, I think I will leave that to the developers, who do it far better than I.
So, spending time writing this little piece today frees me from some of the anxiety, yes, anxiety, experienced as I scrolled through and clicked around about 50 websites and blogs looking for that perfect piece of software. I think I was just avoiding working on the book.
Oh, well, back to the book and I hope the rain continues, so I can make up the 3 hours spent in the super-highway of interstellar, virtual reality. When I find the software, will let you know.
